The various writers of the Psalms wrote and sang about things that they loved about God. The Book of Psalms is full of these declarations. Here are just a few.
Psalm 34:7, For the angel of the Lord is a guard; he surrounds and defends all who fear him.
Psalm 103:13-14, As a father has compassion on his children, so the LORD has compassion on those who fear him; for he knows how we are formed, he remembers that we are dust.
Psalm 145:3, Great is the LORD and most worthy of praise; his greatness no one can fathom.
For further reflection…
- What is something that you love about God? This could be something about who God is or a characteristic of God. It could be something that God has done.
- Identify something that God loves about you. Reflect on some of the things that the Bible says about you. You are beloved, chosen, made in God’s image, a son or a daughter of God. Reflect on who you are. Your personality, your talents, your gifts and the spiritual path that you are on.
- Think about the things that you chose. Why do you think those are significant?
- Write down any questions that you have about God or about God’s love for you.
